Key Concept Week 6

Key Concept Exercise
Required
Reliability of systems
When a product or system consists of a number of independent components, the probability that the system or product will operate as planned requires the use of the rules of probability for independent events (Sower, 2011, pp.60-67). In this week’s Key Concept Exercise, you are asked to consider how the calculation of product reliability can be applied in your organisation. Additionally, you will analyse a system and its components to determine the system reliability and the failure rate.
To prepare for this Key Concept Exercise:
· Read the Required Learning Resources for Week 6.
· Reflect on how the topic relates to your own professional practice.
