About the Author

William Peter Blatty was both an American writer and filmmaker, born and brought up in New York, The United States. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degree in English Literature from Georgetown University. He wrote the manuscript and the screenplay version for his book The Exorcist in 1971. His excellent screenplay won him an Academy Award.

About the Novel

It is a horror fiction that depicts the story of a twelve-year-old girl. She is the daughter of famous film stars. Her parents are divorced, and the girl lived with his mother. One day, when Chris, her mother, is reading the script, and she started playing with the Ouija board. When her mother noticed, she didn’t pay any attention to it and thought it is natural for a child to be curious about such things. The little girl made an imaginary friend named Captain Howdy. But later it is found that the friend is not just an imagination but a demon. The little girl slowly becomes possessed by a demon and not behaving like herself. The story has many paranormal and exorcism events.
