Citrus fruits

Citrus fruits contain vitamin C, which increases the production of white blood cells and protects us from several infections. For example, grapes, oranges, lemon, etc. They also have other vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function properly like potassium, vitamin B, copper, and so on. 

Limit Added Sugar

Research suggests that added sugar leads to overweight or obesity, which ultimately increases the risk or chronic diseases. According to the American Heart Association,  American women limit their intake of sugar as 100 calories per day. For men, it should be 150 calories per day, which is around nine teaspoons to stay healthy. 

Stay Hydrated

Keeping yourself hydrated won’t protect you from viruses directly. But it may help in improving your overall health. Most people stay healthy just by drinking water. Thus drinking eight glasses of water is enough to boost your immune system. 

Eat Plant Food

Whole plant foods like vegetables, seeds, oils, nuts, and fruits are rich in nutrients and antioxidants. It boosts immunity and protects you from numerous diseases. Those who intake more plant-based food have lower chances of getting chronic diseases. 

Supplement Wisely

When we hear about viruses like COVID-19, we turn to supplements. But the National Institutes of Health suggested that no supplement can prevent or treat COVID-19. Sometimes you take supplements of vitamins to improve your health. Yet, they may also turn out to be havoc for your health. So choose supplements wisely. 

Exercise Daily

Studies show that sessions of moderate exercise can boost the immune system. It helps your immune cells regenerate regularly.  But experts suggest that if you want to boost your immune system, then daily exercising 30 minutes can benefit. It also helps in maintaining a moderate weight. 

Take Good Fat

Good fats like olive oil and salmon may boost the immune system. These are highly anti-inflammatory and decrease the risk of chronic diseases. But it does not mean that you have to cut all the bad fat from your meal. All you have to do is limit it to 10% in your daily meal.
